Fine cause
In memory of Alan, who will be much missed.
Alan was a much valued friend to me for more than 40 years. He was fun to be with and he was a giver in all that he did. He gave so much to CARA over nearly 20 years; there are many whose lives were changed for the better because of his efforts and help. I will miss him very much.
For a great organisation close to Alan's heart.
Alan was a brilliant scientist and a wonderful person, helping so many people both professionally and personally. His kindness, wit and sage advice will stay with countless people for decades to come.
I am making this donation in memory of Prof. Alan J. McCarthy.
A fabulous charity. They’ll miss all your support Alan
Alan was my supervisor on a microbiology project in 1990 I think. I only spent a couple of months with him but that is enough to get "the bug" so to speak. I am still working at Liverpool university and that is in no small part down to Alans mentorship at that time, and that wonderful smile - which was always there when we have met since. Very missed. But there are so many people still working today who Alan will continue to play a role in their careers and who they are.
In memory of Alan McCarthy.
In memory of Alan, an inspirational scientist and a wonderfully kind person.
A very sad loss of a lovely man who was always good company and had a terrific sense of humour. Condolences to all the family.
I first worked with Alan in 199*mumble* when he was "over the road". I've nothing but fond memories.
Cara was a charity that was very dear to Alan’s heart. I am very pleased to donate.
Alan, it was a pleasure working with you and knowing you. Thank you for making me laugh so much xx
Like so many other lucky students, Alan took me under his wing and supported me throughout my microbiology career. He was such an incredible teacher and was the reason I chose microbiology. I looked forward to our meetings because he was always so funny and witty. He will be missed and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
He'll be truly missed, but lives on in the legacy he's left behind.
May Alan McCarthy rest in peace
Alan was one of the best. The best PhD supervisor, mentor and friend. From Corinne Whitby and family.
